How to Clean and Maintain Linen Aprons: A Complete Care Guide

An apron is meant to be used. A little attention between cooking, gardening, and making helps keep it ready for the next day. Start with the instructions on your own apron: fabrics, colors, and finishes can need different care.

Read the label first

Look at the sewn-in label before washing, drying, ironing, or applying a stain treatment. The directions for a particular apron take priority over general advice about linen. If a symbol or instruction is unclear, contact Hanee before trying a new treatment.

Before washing

Empty every pocket, check the ties, and separate similar colors. Choose detergent, temperature and cycle settings according to the label. Give stains prompt attention, but avoid experimenting with bleach, vinegar, baking soda or other treatments without checking that they are suitable for the fabric, color and finish.

Dry with care

Follow the label’s drying instructions. Do not assume every linen blend can be tumble-dried, or that the same heat setting suits every style. Gently arrange the apron into its usual shape and make sure it is completely dry before storing it.

A natural finish

A little texture is part of the look of natural fabrics. If you prefer a smoother finish, check the ironing instructions and any restrictions for trims or special finishes. Avoid choosing an iron temperature based only on the word “linen.”

Between wears

Hang your clean, dry apron where it can air, or fold it neatly in a dry cupboard. Check pockets again before putting it away. If you need product-specific help, email info@haneeaprons.com and tell us which Hanee style you have.
